Alyssa and Daniel's summer wedding at Heron's Bridge was the perfect balance of rustic and sweet
With sweeping lawns, rustic split-rail fences, lush forests and quaint gazebos, it’s no wonder Alyssa and Daniel chose Heron’s Bridge for their wedding ceremony. The picturesque locale paid off with a stunning summer day full of smiling faces and photo ops.
“What really made the day so perfect,” says Alyssa, “was having the right venues and team that fit my vision.” The bride had spent plenty of time ensuring everything was ready in advance. By the time the big day arrived she was able to just relax and enjoy. “Heron’s Bridge has such a lovely space for getting ready that it was easy to just enjoy the morning with my bridesmaids and mom.”
The couple had Daniel’s father officiate the ceremony followed by a second, mini-ceremony with a marriage commissioner while the guests travelled to the reception venue. The two-step ceremony made the event extra special, being able to share their vows with Daniel’s father and sign the wedding register with their brothers. It was a way to include the whole family and provide guests with enough time to travel between venues.
Before leaving Heron’s Bridge, the wedding party had the opportunity to shoot some lovely photos on the grounds. Alyssa admits she loves being photographed so “having two photographers who were energetic and attentive was important.” Kat and Fred from VanWeddings had no trouble keeping up and the couple captured every moment.
For the reception—held at the family’s private residence—Alyssa changed from her wedding gown, Lillian by Vera Wang to a second dress by the designer from her White collection. The first dress was so delicate that Alyssa could not risk harming it while dancing the night away but says, “I wish I could wear it again.”
The reception got the whole crowd dancing with music by Waddah and Alex Rocco of iDJ. Alyssa comments, “we had so much fun it was difficult to leave and let the day end.”
