Classic style and personal DIY touches defined this elegant, navy and gold Yaletown wedding
Kimberly and Brett lucked out with a beautiful late September day for their wedding last year, captured by John Bello Photography. A lovely DIY affair, their celebration was inspired by their own love of food and entertaining. Their theme was one of classic elegance, a bit of vintage with lace and pearl touches and a colour scheme of navy and gold.
For the couple’s outdoor ceremony in the courtyard at Vancouver’s Brix Restaurant, Brett himself had crafted the pillars for their altar. And for their reception inside the Yaletown restaurant, Kimberly had designed the wooden table numbers herself, which Brett then scroll cut and painted by hand.
Even the smallest member of the family wasn’t forgotten in the big day. Kimberly says their cat Rocco got ready alongside the bridal party and even sported a handmade bow tie for the occasion.
