Newlyweds-to-be Yoojin Chang and Christopher Kung woke up to perfect Vancouver on August 25, 2012 – a good omen for their glorious wedding day to come. After getting ready with her bridesmaids (Yoojin did her own makeup to ensure she still looked like herself on her big day), the bride headed to Canadian Memorial Church in her dramatic Vera Wang gown for the couple’s traditional ceremony. Following a series of sunny photos in Gastown and other interesting Vancouver locales, the wedding party headed downtown to the Sutton Place Hotel for the elegant reception under shimmering chandeliers. Honouring their families’ heritage, Yoojin changed into a traditional red Chinese cheong sam and later a colourful Korean gown for the cake cutting. Making one more outfit change, she readied herself for a night of dancing in a long but relaxed party dress. Christopher and Yoojin were pleasantly surprised when their wedding party performed a dance of their own, which they’d secretly been rehearsing for months. “What made our day special,” recalls Yoojin, “was seeing all of our out-of-town guests (there were many) and being able to celebrate our special day with all of our family and friends.”
